Honor Healthcare Workers in May

Posted by Shannon Richter on April 29, 2020 at 2:05 PM

americanhealthcare_covidWith today’s COVID-19 challenges, our hospitals are working hard to protect lives. What better time to have a month of celebration?

May has specific dates to recognize hospitals and nurses for keeping us healthy. May is home to National Hospital Week, National Nurses Week, and National Nurses Month

National Hospital Week May 10-16, 2020

National Hospital Week is May 10-16, 2020 and it recognizes hospitals for their services. It’s a time when the country, together as one, celebrates the hope and healing that our hospitals provide for us.

Hospitals play such an important role in our communities. Now, more than ever, we are so proud of them. This week, let’s make sure our hospital staffs feel the love. Think of unique ways, even during this pandemic, to show our support to hospital workers.

For example, in this video Staten Islanders show appreciation to hospital staff.

Another example is this video that shows New Yorkers cheering for medical professionals. Positive moments like these shine a bright light during this dark time.

MyHospitalWe can show our appreciation to hospital staff by using #MyHospital on social media. Download this template and highlight something special about your hospital. Join us in showing our hospitals how much we appreciate them. You can share how your hospital has helped you or write well wishes to healthcare workers. Remember to share on social media with the hashtag #MyHospital.

National Nurses Week May 6-12, 2020

healthcareworker_covid-19Nurses care for patients, advocate for patients, and provide hope for patients. They do all this and make it look easy. Not just anyone can do what they do. It takes a special, strong, smart, and caring person to fill the shoes of a nurse.

During this pandemic, nurses are making personal sacrifices for the health of others. National Nurses Week allows us to recognize them and show our overwhelming gratitude. Here are some special dates during National Nurses Week.

May 6 – National Nurses Day

May 8 – National Student Nurse Day

May 12 – International Nurses Day

National Nurses Month – May 1-31, 2020

There is so much to celebrate about these healthcare heroes that National Nurses Week is now the entire month of May. Each week of May has its own theme.

Week 1 – Self Care

This week focuses on mindful self-recognition, including emotional and physical well-being. Challenge yourself to engage in healthier activities.

Week 2 – Recognition

Make a point to raise the visibility of the important work nurses do. Honor the nurses in your community. Nominate a nurse for the DAISY Award that honors extraordinary nurses.

Week 3 – Professional Development

Nurses can focus on how to excel and lead in their nursing careers and inspire others to do the same.

Week 4 – Community Engagement

Help promote nurses’ invaluable contributions by engaging with your community. Consider using these hashtags. #nationalnursesweek, #nationalnursesday, #nationalstudentnurseday, #internationalnursesday

During May, join us in honoring our healthcare workers. Epiphany Healthcare understands the important role that healthcare workers play in healthcare systems. We want to take this opportunity to thank them for their service. Our goal is to use our technology and services to improve patient care, as nurses around the world do every day. From the Desk of the President:

The majority of Epiphany Healthcare’s staff already works remotely. As of today, all employees will be working from home. Business travel is suspended during this outbreak. Many hospitals have notified us that vendors should not be entering their facilities.

covid-19

Project implementation and customer support have always been provided remotely. Our clinical training staff will provide web-based training for our customers. We have extensive experience doing remote training. On-site retraining will be available, if requested, when travel normalizes.

The sales team does the majority of their work remotely including web demonstrations and proposal reviews. Sales team members will not be scheduling on-site meetings. They can provide video conferencing when requested.

We will be social distancing, washing our hands frequently, using hand sanitizer, and working hard to keep our families safe. We live on conference calls and email. We will continue to communicate diligently and often. These travel restrictions will have a minimal impact on our organization; we will do our best to continue to support our customers and those interested in our products. All of us at Epiphany wish you the best during this difficult period.

U.S. National Health IT Week – Help Transform Healthcare

Posted by Shannon Richter on August 27, 2019 at 10:30 AM

IHeartHIT

Epiphany Healthcare is a proud partner of U.S. National Health IT Week, this September 23-27.  U.S. National Health IT Week is a nationwide action week focused on supporting healthy communities across the U.S. through the application of information and technology.

Comprehensive healthcare reform is not possible without system-wide adoption of health information technology, which improves the quality of healthcare delivery, increases patient safety, decreases medical errors, and strengthens the interaction between patients and healthcare providers.

Initiated in 2006 by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), U.S. National Health IT Week has emerged as a landmark occasion for using health IT as part of the overall solution to improve America’s healthcare as a bipartisan, federally led, market-driven initiative.

The Week consists of events across the country, including U.S. National Health IT Week participants — market suppliers, provider organizations, payers, pharmaceutical/biotech companies, government agencies, industry/professional associations, research foundations, and consumer protection groups — all working together to elevate national attention to the advantages of advancing health IT.

How IT Advancements Such as ECG Management Enhance Healthcare Communication

Posted by Allison Fawber on June 21, 2017 at 7:07 AM

All industry sectors work hard to keep up with a constant onslaught of technological advancements. In healthcare, technology innovation has led to some miraculous discoveries; indeed, the industry barely resembles what was perceived as cutting-edge care only a few decades ago.

Of course, the advancements that generate the most buzz are directly related to patient diagnostics and treatment. New drugs, imaging technologies, or surgical devices often make international news. But on the inside, for the medical personnel that move mountains to provide best-in-class patient care every day, innovation in healthcare communication is perhaps even more revolutionary.

Software Has Changed the Way We Communicate

Healthcare_IT_Communication

In the modern hospital, communication platforms are the most-accessed, most universally necessary, and arguably most important infrastructural elements. No number of high-tech surgical devices or fantastically skilled staff members can solve modern medical problems if they can’t talk to each other. That communication needs to be fast, reliable, secure, and comprehensive.

Cardio Server, Epiphany’s web-based ECG management software, is hardware independent, which means that your network, your servers, and your domains remain untouched. The application gives healthcare providers access to instant communication regardless of time, distance, or device. And, since we are compatible with over one hundred devices from a variety of vendors, Cardio Server helps your organization become more interoperable.

 “Effectiveness” is Measurable

Using metrics to help determine what makes communication “effective” takes the guesswork out of software upgrades and allows hospitals to quickly see the value in healthcare-technology advancements. How long does it take to access ECG data and how many individuals access that day each day, each month, and each year? How is that data entered and how long does it take to enter? Is data entered once or multiple times? To determine whether your ECG communication is effective, first answer these questions; then consider whether there is room for improvement. What about cost savings based on wasted resources? How often is data keyed inaccurately? How often is data lost entirely? Epiphany has tools in place to offer you a free workflow analysis, which allows you to analyze your processes to see where improvements might be necessary.

Additionally, Cardio Server’s platform contains an extensive reporting package that allows you to analyze your data. The report functionality can help with administrative needs, billing needs, or help determine workflow efficiency.

Cost is Practical

When a healthcare organization can leverage its current devices and infrastructure and use one software program to manage all of their different diagnostic modality tests, the result is outstanding financial return on investment.

ECG management has been available in the industry for over thirty‐five years. Until now, it has been both expensive and limited to certain acquisition devices. Implementing ECG management generates significant clinical benefits for patients and dramatic cost savings for your facility.

Patients receive better care when ECG management is coordinated between departments in the hospital. ECG management streamlines procedures in the Operating Room and Cardiology Department, but its life-saving benefits are most profound in the Emergency Department.

Financial benefits include saving at least $7.00 per exam for resting ECG tests. ECG management eliminates the costs of all those “chart pulls” that consume staff time and facility materials.

It is Time to Modernize

ECG management software has changed the way we communicate, helps analyze processes, and results in outstanding financial ROI. Break down the barriers to productivity in your organization and learn more about Epiphany’s Cardio Server ECG Management system today.

Join Epiphany Cardio in Honoring Hospitals Nationwide!

Posted by Derek Moorman on May 15, 2013 at 11:03 AM

Epiphany Cardio recognizes hospitals nationwide in celebration of National Hospital Week, an annual event that celebrates the health care industry. The event, taking place this year from May 12th through the 18th, is a tribute to medical professionals; technology, history, and advancements that make health care what it is today. This year’s theme is “A Guiding Light for Changing Times.” The theme emphasizes hospitals’ growing role in the nation’s ever-changing health care industry. The associated festivities are meant to unite health care facilities and personnel around the country.

The celebratory tradition began in 1921 when a Chicago editor proposed a community-wide salute to the medical industry. The concept was meant to ease any anxieties the general public had regarding hospitals and medical staff. Today the week-long event is a time to acknowledge medical personnel, encourage trust throughout the community, and promote a mission of wellness and celebrate top quality care at each medical facility.

Many people use this week to appreciate the vital role health care facilities and staff members play in society. Medical treatment is about more than just healing, it’s a crucial piece of a bigger puzzle. Health care represents hope, discovery, and innovation fNational Hospital Weekor a brighter future. The optimism and positive attitudes of medical personnel are central to the well-being of a community, and the nationwide event recognizes this.

With so many advancements in technologies, hospitals and medical facilities can provide high-quality, effective and sophisticated solutions to a number of health care issues. Software, hardware and medical device suppliers play a major role in the success of the industry as well. National Hospital Week honors the complex network of people and tools that keep the health care services operating properly.

There are countless ways communities can participate in the week-long celebrations. Hospital directors can plan activities throughout the week for patients and staff members. One way to show appreciation to personnel is to host an on-site reception for the entire staff. This type of function can be as extravagant or as intimate as needed, and family members can join in. Health care providers can also use this week to boost patient morale and promote trust. A patient seminar is ideal for this purpose. Most people want to be informed when it comes to their health, and a seminar can bridge the gap between patient and physician. Providing a tutorial on relevant topics will show hospital patrons that they matter, which can further improve the doctor-patient relationship.

Handing out promotional items is also a great way to kick-start the celebration. Marketing materials such as coffee mugs, t-shirts and reusable shopping bags raise awareness about the impact of the health care industry on the community. Administrative staff managers can give out appreciation gifts as well in order to show medical professionals and patients how valued they are.

National Hospital Week is the largest health care event in the country, and hospital administrators, medical workers, technicians and patients from all over the nation are participating. The team at Epiphany Cardio is no exception. We would like to acknowledge our customers and thank them for their contributions and support in making our company a success.
