Health First, an Integrated Delivery Network (IDN) located in Florida, recently implemented the addition of the telemetry monitor modality, (specifically Philips BioTel Heart), into their Cardio Server system. Now that the modality is live, the clinical lead shared her team’s positive reactions to reading these through Epiphany’s system. Mara Grow, Central Monitor Technician for Health First shares her recent experience.
Workflow before implementing Epiphany Cardio Server
Health First reported they had a cumbersome workflow prior to Cardio Server. They’ve now been using Cardio Server for 5 years, and manage ECG, Holter, Event, and now Telemetry Monitoring in the system. Mara described the organization’s previous workflow as having manual processes from order entry to result. Users were downloading and entering charges using five different systems to finalize each study.
Managing Diagnostic Data with Cardio Server
After 5 years of using Cardio Server to manage their diagnostic test results and adding new modalities over time, “the organization’s workflow is completely automated from start to finish. Providers are very happy to be reading all studies in one location with a much simpler process than how they were dictating them. Patients are far more compliant with using the monitor because they are receiving them [results] three times faster than before,” shared Mara.
Working with Epiphany
When asked if there was anything she would tell other hospital organizations considering Epiphany, Mara added, “I have worked with the associates from Epiphany on two projects and both times they were extremely professional, helpful, and went above and beyond to ensure our organization's needs were met to the best of their abilities.” Nicole Horve, Project Manager at Epiphany, echoed the positive experience as well. She added, "We love helping customers get automated solutions to manual workflows and it's been a pleasure working with the team at Health First."
